How an engagement starts

    Thirty minutes, no charge, with the partner who would run the matter — not an assistant.

    Conflict check

    Run the same day. If we are conflicted we say so immediately and suggest two other firms.

    Engagement letter

    Scope, fee basis and an estimate in writing before a single hour is billed.

  4. 04

    The work

    One partner responsible throughout. You are told when the estimate is at risk, not afterwards.
